Eighth Commandment

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”

WHAT: To "bear false witness" is to lie about someone/something, we damage ones honor and reputation. In a sense, its a form of theft - taking something from a person we're lying about his/her good name.

WHEN: Think bad of one without having a certain reason for doing so. Engage in gossip and/or judgement. Even if true, one should never detract by telling the sins of another who has no right to know those sins.
